With a history of excellence in cases involving complicated custody and parenting time issues, Rachel R. James has represented clients in almost every area of family law, including custody, paternity, spousal maintenance, property division, post-decree modification, orders of protection, prenuptial agreements and family law appeals. She also represents clients in the areas of third-party custody involving grandparent rights and in loco parentis matters. Although her practice is primarily in family court, Ms. James has successfully represented clients in juvenile and probate matters, including guardianships, conservatorships and dependency actions.

Admitted to practice law in Arizona, California and the United States District Court for the Southern District of California, Ms. James is an active member of the Maricopa County Bar Association, American Bar Association and Association of Family and Conciliation Courts. In 2007, Ms. James was the co-chair for the Holiday Christmas Party for underprivileged children put on by the State Bar of Arizona Young Lawyer Division. Further, Ms. James is the current co-chair for the Race Judicata, a fun run/walk put on by the Maricopa County Young Lawyers Division to raise funds for victims of domestic violence.

Ms. James received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Iowa and her Juris Doctor, Cum Laude, from California Western School of Law in San Diego, California. Ms. James has resided in the State of Arizona for four years.
