The AAPL (American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law) will be conducting a conference at the J.W. Marriott Starr Pass Resort & Spa on October 21 through October 24, 2010. NGS (Nirenstein Garnice Soderquist PLC) partner, Carol A. Soderquist, Esq., will be sitting as one of the panelists to discuss "Parental Alienation -- A New Addition to the DSM-V?".
The symposium will be conducted by Dr. Stephen P. Herman, M.D., who will act as Moderator. Dr. Herman, a well-known and respected forensic child and adult psychiatrist who has served as an expert in many high profile child custody cases, will discuss an overwiew of Parental Alienation, whether it should be included in the DSM-V as a distinct syndrome, whether it should be considered a relational disorder or left out of the DSM-V altogether. Ms. Soderquist will discuss the legal history of parental alienation, and the use and reliance upon parental alientation in the context of legal disputes. Other presenters include the Honorable Bruce Cohen of the Maricopa County Superior Court, Dr. Philip M. Stahl, Ph.D, and Dr. John A. Moran, Ph.D.
